Scaffolding Contracts Manager – Midlands

Location: Midlands – Nottingham, Derby & surrounding areas
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Company Vehicle: Van included

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Scaffolding Contracts Manager to join our team and oversee a portfolio of new build housing projects across the Midlands, particularly around Nottingham, Derby and the surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in scaffolding within the new build housing sector and will be responsible for managing contracts from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple scaffolding contracts across new build housing developments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with house builders, site managers and clients.
  • Plan and manage programmes for scaffolding kit and labour, ensuring resources are available when required.
  • Coordinate scaffolders and labour requirements across multiple sites.
  • Manage and monitor wages, timesheets and labour costs to ensure they remain in line with budgets.
  • Arrange and oversee scaffold inspections, ensuring all inspections are completed correctly and on schedule.
  • Monitor scaffold requirements throughout each project and ensure alterations, adaptations and dismantles are planned accordingly.
  • Manage project programmes and ensure scaffolding works are completed in line with the overall construction programme.
  • Monitor contract performance, costs and profitability.
  • Deal with client queries, variations and day-to-day contract issues.
  • Carry out regular site visits to monitor progress, standards and relationships.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with relevant health & safety requirements and company procedures.
  • Identify potential issues before they become problems and put effective solutions in place.
  • Work closely with management, site teams and operatives to ensure projects run smoothly.
  • Help develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities for further business.

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience as a Scaffolding Contracts Manager or similar senior role.
  • Extensive new build housing experience – essential.
  • Strong knowledge of scaffolding requirements across housing developments.
  • Experience managing labour, kit, programmes and project costs.
  • Experience managing wages/timesheets and monitoring labour spend.
  • A strong understanding of scaffold inspections and compliance.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and client management skills.
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to manage contracts profitably.
  • The confidence to manage multiple sites and priorities simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently.
