Electrician – Temp to Perm | Hospital Maintenance Contract | Leeds

Alpha Recruitment is working with a well-established Leeds-based commercial electrical contractor to recruit a fully qualified Electrician for an immediate start on a long-running NHS hospital maintenance contract.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering the security of a permanent role with a respected contractor, starting on a temporary basis with a clear route to a staff position for the right person.

The role
You'll be carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a busy hospital environment, including:

Containment installation (tray, trunking, conduit and basket)
Reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Fault-finding and remedial works
Supporting EICR / periodic testing and certification
Working to BS 7671 and NHS site compliance standards
Keeping disruption to a minimum in a live clinical setting

What you'll need

Recognised electrical qualification – City & Guilds 2360/2365 or NVQ Level 3 (Gold Card / ECS)
Full 18th Edition (BS 7671:2018 + A2:2022)
Inspection & Testing (City & Guilds 2391) – highly desirable for this contract
Based in or around Leeds for an immediate start
Maintenance experience, ideally in healthcare, commercial or industrial settings
DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo one) for hospital site access
Strong, reliable, presentable and comfortable working in occupied environments

Pay & package

JIB Approved Electrician rate (£39,000 - £45,000)
The client will pay above JIB for the right candidate
Overtime available at enhanced rates
Permanent position with full benefits on conversion
Immediate start for the right person
